The Bryan-College Station Eagle: Celltex’s Jackie Sherrill Featured as a Guest Columnist to Comment on the Upcoming Texas A&M vs. Texas Game
Coach Jackie Sherrill, President of Celltex Sports Biologics, was featured as a guest columnist in The Bryan-College Station Eagle this week to share his excitement for this weekend’s rivalry game between Texas A&M University and the University of Texas.
For the first time in 13 years, the two schools will face off during College Football Rivalry Week.
During Sherrill’s tenure as Texas A&M’s head football coach from 1982 to 1988, the team went 5-2 against Texas. In the article, Coach Sherrill reflects on the past rivalry games and shares what he believes to be the key to winning this year’s Lone Star Showdown.
Since retiring from coaching, Coach Sherrill has dedicated his post-football career to helping improve other athletes’ quality of life by advancing awareness for stem cell therapy and research.
Sherrill himself experienced long-term pain due to the wear and tear he incurred from a lifetime of playing sports and coaching. He finally found relief—and was even able to avoid a double knee replacement—after receiving stem cell therapy in 2014. His remarkable results led him to start working with Celltex. Today, he serves as the President of Celltex Sports Biologics.
Through his role with Celltex, Sherrill assists with the coordination of sports studies to help advance stem cell research for sports medicine. He has seen both the short and long-term consequences that sports-related injuries can have on players. With his efforts in advancing cellular therapies, he hopes to limit these consequences for athletes everywhere.
