After a five-month stay in the hospital, my husband and I were finally able to bring Braden home. Due to his injury, Braden was extremely dependent on us for everyday tasks, such as walking, bathing and holding up his own body weight. While Braden began his long road to recovery, we spent hours each day researching next steps, support groups, clinical trial studies and other possible therapy options that might be a fit for him. We were heartbroken to learn that Braden did not qualify for any clinical trial studies at that time, but we were determined to find a solution to his ailments. After learning about stem cell therapy through our online research, we discovered Celltex Therapeutics, a Houston-based biotechnology company specializing in adult stem cell therapy, using cells that come from their clients’ own bodies. After weeks of in-depth research, my husband and I knew that Celltex was the right choice for Braden.
In January 2017, our family flew to Cancun, Mexico for Braden to receive an IV infusion of hundreds of millions of his own stem cells. Everything went smoothly while in Cancun. The hospital staff was extremely attentive, knowledgeable and helpful in answering all our questions regarding the procedure. Outside of the hospital, the Celltex team made sure that our needs were met, and they were always available to assist us throughout the trip.
Braden received three therapeutic infusions while in Cancun, and his doctors have noticed a positive change in Braden ever since. Within five months of therapy, Braden’s vision improved enough that he is able to read again. We are also noticing that his brain function is working at a faster pace and with more fluidity. In fact, Braden is now extremely independent and can tackle many tasks on his own. For example, immediately after the accident, Braden lost use of his right hand due to the stroke, but since stem cell therapy, Braden is now using his right hand a lot more – something his neurofeedback doctors are noticing as well.
Our family is so thankful to Celltex and its staff. Celltex gave our son a second chance at life and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for Braden.
