For two decades, including years serving in the Air Force and overseas, I suffered from severe pain in my shoulder, hip and neck. By 2017, I could no longer move my right arm. Since I like to stay active by working out daily and coaching my son’s baseball team, this was extremely debilitating, and I knew I had to find a way to feel better.

I met with two different orthopedic surgeons, and both recommended a total shoulder replacement. I wanted to avoid painful surgery, which would involve a long recovery time and would also require the glenoid cavity to be replaced every 5-6 years. I researched alternatives and tried four rounds of bone marrow extractions, which were extremely unpleasant and did not provide much pain relief.

Tired of living in pain and still in search of an alternative, I learned about Celltex through a mutual friend I shared with Dr. Stanley Jones, co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of Celltex. Dr. Jones introduced me to Celltex’s amazing work. I talked to several other Celltex clients about their positive experiences and researched more about how Celltex banks my own mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and uses their technology to isolate, cryopreserve and grow my MSCs into the hundreds of millions for therapeutic use.

Based on my research, talking with other Celltex clients and with Celltex’s knowledgeable client service team, I decided to go ahead with banking my MSCs in hopes of alleviating my daily pain. I had a small portion of my abdominal adipose tissue extracted in a quick procedure at my doctor’s office. Following the procedure, my MSCs were processed in Celltex’s FDA-registered Houston lab, where technicians created a master bank of hundreds of millions of my adult MSCs.

After my MSCs were banked, I was all set to go to Cancun, Mexico to receive therapy. The Celltex client services team in Cancun provided impeccable service, and Hospital Galenia was on par with most, and above many, medical facilities in the U.S.

Results vary for every unique client but for me, my hip pain disappeared immediately, and it has not returned since receiving therapy. My shoulder pain

also dramatically improved in the weeks following therapy by 95%, and I have regained full range of motion in my arm. I’m thrilled to be back in the gym, lifting weights, and doing cardiovascular exercise without pain. I no longer take any medications and plan to go back to Cancun for another round of therapy later this year. The sharp, knife-like pain in my joints that affected me for decades has disappeared!
