I credit my current amazing quality of life to Celltex and often tell friends and family that I am a “living miracle” thanks to Celltex’s technology.
During my pregnancy with my now 15-year-old daughter, I developed an autoimmune disease called thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP), which is a rare and life-threatening blood disorder that limits the flow of blood to vital organs. My symptoms included extreme fatigue, nausea and constant pain.
I was hospitalized nine times in 13 years and was desperate to find a solution. Prior to experiencing TTP, I had earned my master’s degree in healthcare administration, was employed full-time, and was living an active life spending time with friends and family.
TTP was severely debilitating and left me unable to work. I was reliant on family members to help with simple tasks like bathing, walking and cooking.
I met Dr. Stanley Jones, co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of Celltex Therapeutics, through a friend, and Dr. Jones introduced me to Celltex’s amazing work. I heard about the incredible results that Celltex clients, such as Sarah Hughes, experienced and immediately wanted to learn more about the company.
Celltex uses mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) that come from my own body. I worked with Celltex’s amazing Client Services team to learn about how MSCs are isolated, cryopreserved and grown into hundreds of millions of MSCs for therapeutic use to improve overall wellness and quality of life, and I decided to move ahead with banking my own MSCs.
The first step was having a small portion of my abdominal adipose tissue extracted in a quick and pain- free procedure at my doctor’s office. Following the procedure, my MSCs were processed in Celltex’s FDA-registered Houston lab. Lab technicians created a master bank of hundreds of millions of my adult MSCs.
Once my MSCs were banked, I was all set to go to Cancun, Mexico. I worked with my Client Service coordinator to have my MSCs prepared for the therapy I would receive at the state-of-the-art Hospital Galenia.
I have had wonderful experiences at Hospital Galenia, starting with my first trip in 2014. It was a top-notch hospital, where all of the doctors knew my name and were there to answer my many questions. The staff was extremely precise and professional and was with me every step of the way: from private transportation to and from the airport, to one-on-one service and an on-call doctor 24/7.
My first round of therapy put me on the path to better health, and I noticed a marked improvement in my daily functioning and felt more energetic.
I now travel to Cancun to receive therapy annually, and I feel better and better each round. Today, I no longer take any pills, I’ve put away my wheelchair and bedpan, and I have my independence back.
Thank you to Celltex for giving me my life back and allowing me to continue to pursue an active life with my loved ones. I hope to continue to spread the word about the amazing improvements in quality of life that Celltex offers to those in pain and I truly believe this is the medical way of the future.
Thank you,
Uns Khudairi
