On Saturday, April 25, Celltex Therapeutics Corporation Founder and CEO, David Eller, was honored by Virtuosi of Houston as a top Entrepreneur in Houston. The “Legends of the Future: Celebrating Heroines & Heroes Gala” was held at the Royal Sonesta Hotel and included a concert by the talented young musicians of Virtuosi Houston.
Every year, the Virtuosi of Houston Organization honors local Houston area “Heroines & Heroes,” who have excelled in their area of business. These men and women have been selected by the organization as outstanding members of society who are using their talents to help improve the lives of others. David Eller was honored as a Top Entrepreneur in Houston for his work in founding and leading Celltex Therapeutics Corporation, a biotechnology company that specializes in regenerative medicine through the use of one’s own autologous stem cells to effectively improve one’s quality of life. Celltex is leading the United States into the future of regenerative medicine with its proprietary technology that precisely separates, multiplies and stores individuals’ own adult, adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) for use in stem cell therapy.

Eller has been at the helm of both privately and publicly held companies in the areas of biotechnology, life sciences, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and bioscience research and development. He served as President of DuPont Pharmaceuticals Company – Europe; Strategic Advisor to the Chief Operating Officer of the E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company (“The DuPont Company”); Chief Executive Officer and President of Virbac Corporation; and Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Granada Biosciences, Inc. In addition, he served as a two-term Chairman of the Board of Regents of The Texas A&M University System, as well as simultaneously holding the position of Chancellor of The Texas A&M University System for a period. While at Texas A&M, he established the Institute of Biosciences and Technology, located in the Texas Medical Center, and a number of additional bioscience programs, including establishing procedures for intellectual property commercialization.
The Virtuosi of Houston organization is a premier young artist’s chamber orchestra which focuses on young musicians of the Houston area (11 – 18 years of age), who seek opportunities with premier conservatories. The Virtuosi of Houston was founded with the goal of providing education and development opportunities to talented youth in the Houston area, regardless of race, religion or income.
