Researchers from Switzerland and Italy have found that adipose-derived stromal cells (ASCs) frozen in liquid nitrogen for future needs, maintain their viability. Researchers discovered that once these frozen cells (the same types of cells used by Celltex) have thawed, they are able to maintain full capability to grow and differentiate into culture. This discovery is important as it brings relief to those who are interested in banking their stem cells but worried about the cell’s effectiveness at a later date. Celltex Therapeutics hopes that this exciting news will encourage those to consider banking their stem cells for future use so that your cells are available in case of emergency, illness, injury or accident.
